We are looking for a skilled Civil Designer to join our Civil and Water team at Bligh Tanner. Join one of Brisbane’s most highly awarded engineering practices and work alongside respected industry leaders. You’ll deliver meaningful projects that make a real impact on communities and the environment — from parks and recreation to water, energy and urban development. The Role You’ll join an established team of designers within our broader Civil Water group of more than 20 engineers and designers. We’ll support your growth through exposure to a wide range of complex and engaging projects, spanning civil infrastructure, urban development, and parks, recreation and public space projects. Your responsibilities will include: Concept, preliminary and detailed design of civil works Detailed design of earthworks, erosion and sediment control, roads, drainage, water and sewer infrastructure Preparation of schedules of quantities Producing high‑quality design documentation as part of a collaborative team Providing technical support to the civil design and drafting team What we'd like Experience in road/civil infrastructure design (4 years minimum) Strong skills using AutoCAD software packages Intermediate Civil design skills and experience using the 12D Model software Good technical ability with SEQ codes and standards Excellent communication and computer skills Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to work with minimal supervision Relevant tertiary qualifications are required (associate degree or higher) What we think is important Professional approach to work Balance approach to life Clear career aspirations and a desire to keep learning Confidence, initiative and a client‑focused mindset Positive contributor to a small teamwork environment Hold safety as a personal core value Life At Bligh Tanner We have strong values tied to our people, our work and our conscience.
